About Droppa

Curation, not just
aggregation.

Droppa is a curated discovery platform for tech meetups, conferences, hackathons, and workshops. We combine automated sourcing with quality scoring, original data analysis, and human editorial supervision — so what you see is the signal, not the noise.

Why Droppa exists

The tech event landscape is fragmented. Great meetups get buried on Eventbrite. Hackathons are announced on Devpost, Luma, and Discord simultaneously. Conferences sell out before most people hear about them.

Raw aggregation alone doesn't fix that — it just moves the noise. So Droppa adds the layer the source platforms don't have: verification, quality scoring, cross-event comparison, deadline tracking, and monthly data reports computed from our own database.

Our goal: you only see events worth your time — with the context to decide.

Our curation methodology

1. Sourcing

We monitor Eventbrite, Meetup, Devpost, Luma, official organizer feeds, and community submissions — dozens of vetted sources, refreshed multiple times per day. Every listing links back to its original source.

2. Verification & scoring

Each event passes duplicate detection, spam filtering, and source-reputation checks, then receives a 0–100 quality score. Listings below our threshold never reach the main feed — and expired events are retired from search indexing.

3. Enrichment & analysis

We add what the source platforms don't have: comparisons against similar events, price positioning, deadline tracking, and audience-fit analysis — computed from our own database of thousands of events.

4. Human editorial review

Joseph Anderson supervises the pipeline end-to-end: source selection, quality thresholds, and review of community submissions before they go live. See our editorial policy for the full process.

Global coverage

We cover 50+ cities and dozens of countries. Events are organized by city, country, category, topic, date, and format so you can drill down to exactly what matters to you.

Original data reporting

Each month we publish a "State of Tech Events" report built from our own database — category momentum, city rankings, pricing trends, and hackathon-deadline pressure. Primary-source numbers you won't find anywhere else.

Founder & Curation Editor

Builds and supervises Droppa’s event-curation pipeline: source selection, quality thresholds, and editorial review of everything the platform publishes.

We're transparent about our process: parts of Droppa are AI-assisted, all of it is human-supervised, and every number we publish is computed from our own data. The full details — including how we handle corrections and advertising — are in our editorial policy.
